Here is the complete blog post from Nick & Jay’s wedding in Spetses island in Greece this summer in 2017!
Whatever I can say about this wedding is not enough. It was wonderful !! I am very gratefull to both Nick and Jay to giving me the opportunity to photograph their wedding in Spetses. I had always wanted to photograph a wedding on this island as it so close to me and I knew I wanted to showcase the beauty and colors of their multicultural wedding in the wonderful blue backdrop of the Greek island.
We had great skype chats with both Nick and Jay from their home base of Johannesburg. Nick was Greek on his father’s side and British from his mother’s side and Jay was from the exotic island of Sri Lanka with a home in London. They had met in Italy and had their wedding in Greece. Wow, that was a cross of countries and cultures that I always found fun. Coming from Chicago myself, I was raised on many cultures on my street and always loved the mingling of people of many backgrounds.
I felt right at home with this couple reminding of my friends that I had left behind in Chicago.
Jay’s preparation took place inside the Nissia hotel whose entrance and decor reminded me of a Hollywood studio/set or Cinecitta with its great facade entrance.
The civil ceremony took place in another graphic location, the ancient style theater of the Anargirios School on the island. A horse and carriage brought them there and the reception took place on the exotic beachfront bar Kaiki beach club. This is where I had my first Aperol spritz and fell in love with the drink.
Rather than exhaust you with my descriptions I leave you with the images that captured these moments and locations below.
